For a super fast machine, or Windows 7 we recommend:
- 2Ghz CPU or faster (dual core or better)
- 2GB of RAM or more (3GB if running an audio editor)
- 19" or larger wide screen or dual displays if your computer supports it (our screens on the left, and your audio editor/web brwoser on the right or dual WireReady screens (two notepads, two browsers, two rundowns, etc.))

LAN (multi-user) Systems
- For less than 10 machines, a Windows a Windows XP Pro or WIndows 7 Pro machine can be dedicated and have its drive shared as a file server.
- You can also use NAS like Synology Disk Station 411+ which provides hot swap mirrored unlimited user access for under $1000 in hardware. Any NAS appliance makes a a nice file server for our storage.
- Software runs from Clients so server type doesn't matter. For larger LANs, Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 Server or Windows Storage Server or any NAS providing sharable disk space to multiple client PC's on your LAN.
Capture Stations
- Dedicate a computer to capture the wire services, audio and other data services. By not having users touch this computer, reliability is enhanced.
- If your server is Windows based, you can park the capture client on the server's desktop. It's a less than 1MB RAM and near 0% process utilization app which runs fine on the server and not affected by any number of users on the LAN.
- If you have a machine doing a lot of automatic recording of audio, it is best to dedicate a client PC matching ideal requirements above to do any automated play or audio recording or web posting and encoding automation.
