WR32.EXE
WR32.EXE is the main program file. We prefer not to clutter up your system with a bunch of DLL and other sub files - so our entire program runs from a single EXE file. All the user functions/GUI runs from this program it is around 2MB.
The program uses standard windows controls to draw the GUI. We use the standard Microsoft GDI print driver engines for display of text and printing. We use the standard set of MME windows multi-media device calls for playing and recording WAV files.
Our file viewers will launch associated programs like Cooledit, Goldwave, Audition or whatever programs are set as the default for WAV or other media types being managed with the software. Text output is stored in TXT files (rich text edit controls) and audio is natively stored as standard RIFF/PCM WAV. We embed all our descriptive meta data in the Microsoft standard INFO chunk in the comment field found at the end of the WAV file.
Locations where user data is stored is controlled by the administrator. In advanced mode, users can use standard windows navigation controls to browse anywhere they like. In secure mode, custom folder configurations allow you to create specific paths, drives and resources where different file types are allowed to be saved and retrieved from. In this mode, we use our own dialogs to fence users to within specific areas for storage purposes. Different users can be given different custom folder assignments. Custom folder assignments may be changed without forcing users out of the system. Most settings are controlled in INI files for each user. A GUI setup program is included or you may edit the INI files directly.
When upgrading, customers rename WR32.EXE and replace it with the next version. Downgrading is done easily by reversing this procedure.
Note: Within the WR32.EXE - we license specific screens/functions based on our main products. For example, the AUTOMATE and Live-ASSIST windows are only available if you have also licensed the ControlReady automation system, however we do include free ONAIR "cart/cd" like playback screens for simple onair use. Likewise, the SalesReady telemarketing/contact management database is contained in this program, but only available when SalesReady is included in your license. StormReady, our school closing system, exists as a separate Borland/Delphi compiled application which can be started from WR32.EXE, but is contained in a separate EXE.
