StormReady - School Closing Database Software and Automatic Telephone Answering Software

StormReady: Managing school and business closure and delay information

StormReady is a multi-user database program designed for managing school and business closings and delays when inclement weather strikes. The software can run on a single computer or it can run on a network with multiple people accessing the database - generating reports - adding records or updating records all at the same time...

The database has been custom designed for broadcasters and other organizations who must update organization statuses very quickly. Each record supports an ID code and/or PIN for authentication purposes. Records can be located by doing a text search or you can type in an ID code and the record will be found instantly. You can custom configure up to 256 status stamps PER category. In this fashion public schools can have a specific list of popular statuses where government agencies or religious groups can have their own. Each list can be driven with hot letters, so that if Closed is the letter A - when you pull up a record, you can toggle the status quickly click okay and move onto the next record.

The database is an access compatible *.MDB structure. Rather than older proprietary systems, StormReady is an open system that lets you use Microsoft Word, Access and similar programs to generate standard mail merges for letters, labels or email.

StormReady has built in report functions and also includes some small command line, shortcut and task scheduler based programs that can be preconfigured to generate a printed, on-screen or even a CSV, or HTML formatted report with user customizable settings. StormReady currently runs from all Windows operating systems, although 2000/XP/2003 is strongly recommended. SQL server output is also supported for MYSQL and MYSQL platforms and we can provide custom front-ends (at a small additional cost) if you want to support on-line updating or web displays..

StormReady does not require dedicated or specialized hardware and will run on any standard windows computer and TCP/IP based network. If a file server or shared-drive path is used, multiple users may log in at the same time. No security keys or unlock codes are required. A simple shortcut to the program loads it into memory and it runs from an icon in the system tray so it's easily out of the way when not in use.

StormReady was written in 1999 and has been maintained with upgrades since that time.
