WinFax is not sending the faxes at the server - I noticed there is an extra area code in the fax details - how do I fix that?

Q: A workstation sends a fax request to the server, but it does not go through to the intended recipient. When fax is resubmitted at the server, the user has to remove the extra area code listed on the fax.

A: When you check that the workstation is configured correctly, it does show WinFax configured correctly with the area code. Faxes still arrive at the server with an extra area code listed. WinFax does not display the settings that it uses when you go into Program Setup, so you have to manually edit the setting at the workstation, so faxes arrive at the server with the correct sending information.

To configure the workstation to send the correct information to the server for faxing:
Log in as administrator at the workstation.
Go to the program setup. Ignore the fact that it is using the WinFax Host settings to display what it is doing and that it says the settings for dialing are setup on the Host.
Go to Modems and Communication Devices and check the box for the modem.
Go to the dialing properties. Set the area code to the correct one.
WinFax uses the workstation's dialing setup for the modem when it sends the info to the server (Host) for the server to do the faxing. Once the settings are saved, un-check the box that sets the modem as the device, so that only the WinFax Host is checked.

It should now send the information correctly.
