Technical Support - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Some of the buttons on the keypad used in one of the recording booths do not work - what do I do to fix them?

A:
1) If all of the buttons do not work, check to see that both the keyboard and keypad are connected to the keyboard port on the computer.

2) If some of the buttons work and others do not, it could be that the programming was lost for the keypad. Each of the keys is programmed to do a keystroke or series of keystrokes. If this programming is lost, then the buttons will not cause the program to respond.

The Genovation keypads can have the program downloaded into them rather than having to reprogram the box manually. On the machine that is having the problem, go to the Start button. Under Programs, you should see a Genovation choice. Under the Genovation choice is either 682 Redefinition or MacroMaster, depending on the version of the Genovation box you have. Open that menu choice. From the main menu at the top of the window, you should have an Open choice. When you choose Open, it should show you a list of the definition files in the default definition location. Highlight the definition file and click the Open button. Once the file is open, choose Download from the main menu bar. Depending on the version, it will either download the file or prompt you to click a button to start the download. After the download is done, exit the redefinition window. The Genovation keypad buttons should now work as they were previously programmed.
