Technical Support - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The audio files that we are trying to transfer between location are either not arriving or they are not whole files when they do arrive - how do I fix that?

A: When transferring large-size files between locations, they can often take longer to process (either by DBcapture or another program) than the interval that DBcapture uses between checks for files. If the first location is still sending a file when the second location is searching for new files to pull down from the ftp server, then the resulting files may be corrupt or cause errors in DBcapture. This can also occur when a separate program is either processing or transferring files in locations that DBcapture is searching for file.

Scanning Twice to eliminate this problem:
There is a setting for DBcapture that has the program check the file twice to be sure that the size has not changed before it will begin transferring it. This setting will affect both files being uploaded and downloaded from the ftp site.

Exit DbCapture by clicking on the X in the upper right corner. Enter the password "exit" to close the program.
Edit the dbcapture.ini file in the \wire\dbcapture folder on the drive letter that DBcapture is running from. You can use Notepad or Wordpad to edit this text file.

Each In/Out path configured in dbcapture.ini will have its own line to control this setting. The format of the line is "ScanTwiceX=no", where "X" is a number that corresponds to the In/Out paths with the same number.

Edit the line for each In/Out path so that it is set to "yes", and then save the changes to the dbcapture.ini file. Restart DBcapture.
