Technical Support - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I want to run a different version of WireReady on just one machine for testing purposes. How do I make sure the new version is only on one workstation?

A: When you download the new version, put it in the Wire folder that all of the other workstation shortcuts point to. Do not rename the new executable. On the machine that you want running the new version, right-click on the desktop shortcut to the WireReady32 program. Choose Properties from the menu choice. On the Shortcut tab ( or Program tab if running Windows98), edit the Target line. Change the executable in the Target line to the new version, and then close the Properties window.

When the shortcut is used, it will run the new version and will not affect any other users. The versions of WireReady32 are compatible with each other, so having one user running a different version should not affect the performance of the system or other workstations.
