Technical Support - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Can I print a list of media/audio files from the Medialog?

Yes. The Medialog has an F5 Print Feature:

When you hit F5, or choose Print, you can print directly to a printer, or print to a file.

Printing is hard-wired to be point size 10 Courier Font.   It will not follow the font you have on the screen. Moreover, you have no control of column widths, or orders.

There are two formats for printing, single line, or multi-line.

Single line outputs FILENAME DESCRIPTION, ARTIST/COMPANY NAME   LENGTH SAVED BY and CHANGED (DATE).

Multi line outputs nearly all columns on two lines per entry.

You can also Print to a FILE.

The most common format choice for this is CSV. CSV (comma delimited) is useful if you want to export data or read it in Microsoft Excel or similar programs. You can then use a spreadsheet to massage/reorder the data any way you like.

When outputting in either mode, you can output just the highlighted (selected) records, or the entire browser.

Keep in mind that since you can sort in the Browser prior to printing, you can order the output based on one column if you sort first.
