Technical Support - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is there a way to remove the date/time stamp at the bottom of news files after moved to a different folder?

Q: Is there a way to remove the date/time stamp at the bottom of news files after moved to a different folder?
A: Yes. There is a configuration setting that can be edited to remove those time stamps.
At the bottom of your WireReady window, there is status line that displays the version of WireReady32 you are using, your customer Serial Number (SN), the username you logged in with and information about your license to use the software. Make note of the username (news1, onair1, sales1, etc) and close out of WireReady32. You can only make changes to the user's configuration file when the user is not logged into the software.
Go to the w:\wire\users\username\username.ini file and open with the Windows Notepad.
Search the document for the group named FileLog with square brackets around it.
Change the setting accordingly:
Append-Move-Stamp-On-Alt-M-moves=Yes
Save the file and close it.
Open WireReady32 again and test by moving a file with the Alt-M move button.
Repeat these steps for any other users that also want this setting configured this way.
