Spellchecking gives the error "unable to initialize dictionary"

Q: Something has gone wrong with the spelling check program in WireReady the last few days. I have always been able to check copy quickly with a control-plus-K. Now when I control-plus-K, I get an "unable to initialize dictionary. error 2156818448," and when I click "OK," get something like "we can't initialize spelling verifier." It's happening on all workstations.

A: The spell check dictionary file may have become corrupt. Perhaps you can restore from a week old (or longer) backup.

It's located in WIRE\USERS\PUBLIC\SPELL

Rename those 3 files and restore from backup.

You may need to have everyone out of WireReady to do it (capture machine can continue to run)
You can also restore the two files in the WIRE folder as follows:

100.sup
wrs32.dll
